NetworkNewsBreaks – EVIO, Inc. (EVIO) Posts Fiscal Q2 2018 Financial Results

EVIO, Inc. (OTCQB: EVIO), a leading provider of cannabis testing and scientific research for the regulated cannabis industry, this morning announced financial and operating results for the quarter and six months ended March 31, 2018. Among other highlights, the company reported revenue for the second quarter of $732,311, a decrease of $56,415 or 12.1% from the second quarter last year. Revenue from the six months ending March 31, 2018, however, was $1,679,176, an increase of $177,997 or 11.9% from the same period in 2017. “EVIO’s second quarter focused greatly on broadening the company’s portfolio. With our recent private placement of $5.973 million, we expanded the company’s footprint by acquiring additional labs, namely in California, a market that we have identified as having unparalleled potential,” EVIO CEO William Waldrop stated in the news release. “We expect the state of California to enforce mandated compliance testing by July 1, 2018. With operational facilities in both Humboldt and Berkeley and the goal of further expansion into the state, we feel like EVIO is well-positioned to meet California’s demand for cannabis testing. Another significant milestone was our entrance into the Canadian market and launched EVIO Canada with the acquisition of Keystone Labs ahead of the country’s legalization of adult recreational use this summer.”

Impoverished farm town is left behind in California

Oct 19, 2018

HURON, Calif. — A rooster signals the start of the day as workers wearing sombreros and ball caps emerge from the shadows and shuffle past boarded-up businesses in this tiny farm town. They converge on a dimly lit dirt lot outside Panaderia de Dios, a bakery sweetening the air with the aroma of Mexican cookies and bread as workers catch rides to the fields. Little else is sweet in Huron, where jobs not displaced by automation in farming are mostly done by hand, and residents struggle to scrape by. "As soon as you make the money, the money goes away,"...

US home sales fell in September to slowest pace in 3 years

Oct 19, 2018

WASHINGTON — U.S. home sales fell for the sixth straight month in September, a sign that housing has increasingly become a weak spot for the economy. The National Association of Realtors said Friday that sales declined 3.4 percent last month, the biggest drop in 2 ½ years, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.15 million. That's the lowest sales pace since November 2015. Hurricane Florence dragged sales in North Carolina, but even excluding the storm's effects, sales would have fallen more than 2 percent, the NAR said. After reaching the highest level in a decade last year, sales of...

Boston-based RR Auction announced Friday the $612,500 winning bid for the meteorite, composed of six fragments that fit together like a puzzle, came from a representative working with the Tam Chuc Pagoda complex in Ha Nam Province, Vietnam. RR predicted it would get $500,000 at auction. The meteorite was found last year in a remote area of Mauritania in northwest Africa. It is considered one of the most significant lunar meteorites ever...
