New York City, New York Dec 23, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Julia is a first-year medical student at Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Wichita, Kansas.
Originally from Russia, she is looking to help new immigrants and people from underserved populations, especially since she is coming from a foreign country herself.
Born in Pyatigorsk, Russia, Julia earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University in 2011. That same year, she moved to the United States where she continued her education at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
While earning her second bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, she was also serving the underserved communities of Orlando.
From May of 2016 until August 2018, she served as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Central Florida and graduated with her s. There, she performed necessary experiments to successfully create 12 E. faecium constructs, tested the activity of clones' operons under different environmental conditions, as well as presented the research data (findings) at the Undergraduate Research Excellence conference.
Among her volunteer experience, Julia has been serving as a scribe/discharge coordinator at Shepherd's Hope (September 2018 - present) and as a transfer orientation peer advisor at the University of Central Florida (December 2015 - present).
A mom of two, she enjoys traveling, cooking, painting, exercising, spending time with her family, and photography. She is fluent in English and Russian.
